The Great New York Shop Hop: June 1-14, 2023

Hello Shop Hop Friends!

We’re SO excited to welcome you to Town and Country Quilt Shop during the Great Western New York Shop Hop!! We hope you’ll check out our store, and hopefully find some inspiration for your next project!

As you may notice on your way here, our lift bridge on Main Street is closed. There are detour signs on all the major routes approaching Albion, making sure that large trucks will be able to cross the canal safely, but I wanted to let you know that there is a quick and easy detour close to the shop, just so you don’t go way out of your way.

For those of you who will be approaching from either the east or west on route 31, this will cause no problems at all, as we are just south of the bridge.

For anyone who plans to come from the north, maybe by route 104, there is a quick detour which is represented by the red line on the map. There’s a canal bridge just one block west of main street, so a left turn onto Caroline, a right turn onto Ingersoll, and a right turn onto E Bank Street will get you here in a jiffy.

I know many of you have completed the Shop Hop in the past, and have heard about the Strawberry Festival that takes place on the second weekend of June in the village of Albion every year. On June 9th and 10th, the town will be full of festivities including a large craft show on the courthouse lawn, vendors up and down main street, lots of events for kids, and a food court.

This means that several streets will be closed on these dates, and the food court will be laid out on East Bank, where the quilt shop is located. These street closures are indicated by strawberries on the map, and will only apply to the second weekend of the hop. If you love some festival food, come on over during that weekend. If you’d rather get a parking spot in front of the shop, other dates might work better for you.

We can’t wait to see old friends and meet some new ones during this year’s hop. See you in June!
